Lisa Ingle-Stevens
DIRECTOR OF EMPOWERMENT
For much of her life, Lisa has been referred to by her loved ones as "La Tiny," translation "a little thing." She’s been told that good things come in small packages, and for her size she packs a big punch. In other words, she sees herself as a St. Bernard when others see her as a chihuahua. Raised by two extraordinary Mexican-American parents, Lisa was encouraged at a young age to follow her passions and dreams in order to help others, and be a light to as many people as possible. After graduating with a business degree from Trinity University, she walked into her first yoga class in the Fall of 1999. That day she realized she had found her life’s passion: merging her love for physical movement, education, and community into one through the practice of yoga.
Lisa began teaching yoga in 2002 and in 2004 she opened her 1st studio with one of her closest friends and business partner, Stevan Falk. She believes that each of us has a unique set of gifts and helping others find and nurture those gifts is what she lives for. In 2019 she created and founded The U-Institute, a leadership development and yoga teacher training company that allows her to meld her 2 passions of mental and physical health. Lisa is certified in work through PAX MASTERY and LIGHTYEAR LEADERSHIP and lives to co-collaborate with others in order to empower people to live their best lives. Lisa teaches a variety of styles of yoga and has her 200 and 300 hour yoga certifications through registered Yoga Alliance programs. Lisa believes when you love what you do and have a true passion for your work the only result can be success. Lisa feels her purpose in life is to turn people’s lights back on and provide tools to reduce our suffering as human beings so we can create and live the life of our dreams. When she is not working with teachers, students, and clients you can find her trying to keep up with her 10-year old daughter Olivia and spending time with her husband Kyle, her forever date. Additionally they have three dogs as part of their family, Abby, JoJo and Charlie and are happiest when they spend time with their family and friends.
Latoya Adams
DIRECTOR OF CHOICE
Latoya began the incredible journey of transformational work when she walked into a hot yoga room in 2009. She really enjoyed practicing Bikram Yoga for the physical and mental benefits but was more attracted to the studio’s inclusive environment. There she discovered the meaning of “your vibe attracts your tribe.” She wanted nothing more than to work at that yoga studio just to be around the amazing people that were employed there. After months of saving money waiting tables, she went to teacher training in 2012 to become a certified Bikram yoga teacher.
From that training sparked a desire to continue to learn and grow as much as she could. She has since gotten certified in Inferno Hot Pilates, traditional mat Pilates, and learned different sequences of yoga through the Open Hand Institute Teacher Training. She is now using the skills she has learned to help facilitate teacher trainings, mentor teachers, and guide incredible humans though yoga and fitness classes. She believes in passing along what she has learned to help others gain tools to live their best life.
Katy Esparza
DOMINATRIX OF DISCIPLINE
Katy is a massage therapist/body worker and yoga teacher. In her 15 years as a massage therapist, she has seen many bodies, injuries and lack of mobility. She knew that there was another way of helping clients heal.
In 2007 she took her first Bikram yoga class and was hooked; she knew being a yoga teacher was the next step not only to help heal others but also herself. In 2013 she embarked on the nine week journey to be a Bikram yoga certified teacher. Her passion for yoga has since blossomed, and in 2015 she went through level 1 & 2 of Baron Baptise power yoga teacher training. This training brought a different level of strength and playfulness to her practice. She went on to get a 200-hour RYT through the Open Hand Institute, where she discovered all about her true self and her next path. She is also level 1 certified in iRest yoga nidra and meditation.
She now coaches and leads workshops through The U Institute trainings. She truly embodies her authentic self and lives the phrase, “Talk the talk, walk the walk.”
